A Brand New Cover

As we near the print date for the book, a last-minute change of plan took place with a brand new cover as seen above...

The Creative Zone

At this point in the creative process I find myself at a precipice: much art has been done; some remains (mostly color art).

I've had the fortune of working in a mostly safe environment where I can tap into that evasive "Creative Zone." In order to stay there and focus I'm taking a pause, not from working, but from posting!

The project is on track; Keep a sharp eye; we'll be back in the coming weeks with something spectacular.

In the meantime reserve Buttons & Beads simply by writing to us at

Express your interest or pose your question. We'll get back to you!

Moonlit Lake Revisited: The Back Cover

Back cover, second rough draft: Only a hint remains of the moon, its light bathing the lake in a soft glow. The testimonials (not shown) will appear in light colored text directly on the background. Compare to first version HERE.

Moonlit Secret Tales: The Back Cover

Modern-day Lake Wynonah reflects the sparkling moon: This was once Plum Creek, where Wynonah left her "peace offering to the Ages."

Starting at the Beginning: The Cover

The beginnings of the cover artwork: Plum Creek, old camping grounds of Wynonah's uncle Sassoonan, is represented on the front; Lake Wynonah to be pictured on the back. Lake Wynonah is the modern, dammed version of the same creek. Other elements will be worked in, like the "buttons and beads" of the title.

There are many binding options: Should we go casebound, smart bound, or saddle stitch? The cost of a casebound book with dust jacket is prohibitive; however, it won't hurt to add a little length to the artwork-- just in case.
